Calling an enthusiastic anaesthetist to join the team with our public client.

You'll be responsible for the provision of anaesthetic and intensive care services including day case anaesthetics, theatre sessions, outpatient anaesthetic assessment clinics, critical care and sedation services and acute pain management. Experience in Paediatrics, Intensive Care or Obstetrics anaesthesia is preferred.

You must be highly motivated and enthusiastic, competent to provide level 1 ICU care, vocationally registered (or eligible) in New Zealand with FANZCA (or equivalent) and willing to take a lead in quality development and teaching

About the team

Our client is a busy 260-bed facility providing secondary services for Lower and Upper Hutt cities and are the tertiary centre for regional plastics, oral maxillofacial, burns and rheumatology services. They have a suite of 8 operating rooms and 8-bed ICU/HDU. There are 8000+ operative procedures per year in General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Gynaecology, Dental, Plastics, reconstruction and OMF, and we have 1,800 deliveries annually in the Obstetric Unit and 600 admissions to the ICU each year.

About you

- Must be vocationally registered in anaesthesia with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) (or eligible)
- FANZCA or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
- For overseas candidates, you must meet the New Zealand Immigration Service requirements
- Ability to work independently
- Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
- Relevant experience and training
